Daniele Proni

Daniele Proni began his musical training with his father Walter Proni, obtaining his diploma in pianoforte at the “G. Frescobaldi” Conservatory of Ferrara and in harpsichord at the “G.B. Martini” Conservatory of Bologna under the instruction of Annaberta Conti.

He has performed in concerts as pianist, harpsichordist and organist with singers José Carreras, Raina Kabaiwanska, Gianni Raimondi, Simone Alberghini, Patrizia Pace, soloists Emanuele Segre, Massimo Mercelli, Paolo Grazia, Roberto Giaccaglia, Domenico Nordio, Marco Rogliano, Giampaolo Bandini and actors the calibre of Arnoldo Foà, Ugo Pagliai, Paola Gasmann and Matteo Belli.

Guest soloist of orchestras such as the Filarmonica of Arad, Camerata de France and the Philharmonische Camerata Berlin, he presently concentrates on ancient and Baroque musical performances with the Respighi Ensemble of Bologna.

Following his diploma in choral music and choral direction he studied with Tito Gotti and continued in his specialisation with Pier Paolo Scattolin, holding seminars and concerts with the “Società Corale Euridice”; he was director of the Cappella Musicale dei Servi in Bologna and of the Coro Gaudeamus. He has also obtained his diploma in composition under Francesco Carluccio and has studied orchestral direction with Paolo Arrivabeni and Luciano Acocella and has obtained a Laurea at D.A.M.S. at the University of Bologna.

He has recorded numerous CDs for the Tactus record company with the music of Vivaldi, Bononcini, Bitti, Bellinzani and Tartini and several of his recordings have been transmitted by Radio 3 Rai and Radio Televisione Svizzera Italiana.

He conducts regular courses in choral music and has been called on as jurist of national and international competitions. A prolific author, he has frequently been chosen as editor of critical musical editions and acts of conferences.

Together with Federico Ferri he is artistic director of the “Caleidoscopio musicale” series of concerts held in Emilia Romagna.

In 2001 he planned the “Mariele Ventre” International Competition for Choral Directors for which he continues to act as artistic director.
